Study on Novel Yaw Error Strategy for Wind Turbines Based on a Multi-Body Dynamics Method

At present, using structural dynamics models is the most commonly used and effective method to simulate dynamic characteristics of large wind turbine. This paper multi-body construct precise multi-flexible body model a turbine coupled with aerodynamics/structure/control. The can realize multi-disciplinary co-simulation interactions, accuracy was verified by comparing numerical simulation data measured data. allowable yaw error typically simplified two or three fixed values according speed range, which cannot often adapt high unsteady change direction under special conditions. In this paper, an accurate calculation threshold based on corresponding optimization strategy are proposed, not only avoid unnecessary shutdown improve availability, but also reduce load bearing safety.
